Features of a disc dryer drying system

2026 01/05

1. Continuous operation and high thermal efficiency. The disc continuous dryer uses conductive heat transfer for drying. Only a very small amount (or none) of air is introduced into the dryer during the drying process, resulting in very little exhaust gas carryover. Therefore, its thermal efficiency can reach over 65%.

2. Low power consumption and low noise. Due to the thin material layer during drying, the main shaft speed is low, and the power required for the material conveying system is small, resulting in very low electricity consumption. The power consumption of the entire drying unit is only 1/5 to 1/7 of that of a convection heat transfer device, and the noise level is very low.

3. Uniform material heating and short drying time. During the drying process, the material tumbles along an Archimedean spiral trajectory in the drying discs, traveling a distance five times the radius of the drying discs, and falling layer by layer. Therefore, the material's contact time with the heating disc surface is basically the same, resulting in very uniform heating.

4. Low material loss and good environmental protection.

5. Large drying capacity.

6. Closed and continuous operation, low labor intensity for workers.

7. The drying medium can utilize waste materials.
